This high-performance electric fixie is a custom-built MASI designed specifically for daily commuting across long distances—over 25 km each way. Frustrated with the limitations of a traditional single-speed bike, the owner upgraded it with a powerful 1000W rear hub motor and a 48V 10Ah tube battery, instantly transforming it into a fast and responsive e-bike capable of handling extended urban travel.
To ensure a smooth pedaling experience that could keep pace with the motor’s output, the drivetrain was enhanced with a Shimano Nexus 8-speed internal gear hub, replacing the original single-speed configuration. This upgrade allows for effortless gear changes, better cadence control, and a perfect balance between manual pedaling and electric assistance.
